((I changed my RP Color ;D))
Dawnapw awoke in the medicine den. Sunhigh already? she thought. Dawnpaw got up out of her moss bed ((Still lined with the silver feather)) and stretched. Dawnpaw stood back up and rubbed her eye with her paw. It was a morning, Er, Afternoon routine. Dawnpaw looked around. and saw Fernpool in her bed. Dawnpaw purred, it must be time for a lesson. Dawnpaw padded over to where her mentor was napping. Dawnpaw poked her a couple of times.
"Ferrrrnpoool. wakey wakey. Time for a lesson." she purred in Fernpool's ear. Dawnpaw backed away and sat down a few mouse-lengths away from The bed.

Fernpool lay in her bed napping lightly when suddenly she heard something in her ear. Blinking sleepily, she raised her elegant head and smiled at her apprentice. “Dawnpaw,” she purred and placed her head on her paws to study her apprentice. “Well, what were you planning on doing today that you need me awake for?” she asked in amusement. The apprenticed seemed quite bouncy today.

Dawnpaw bounced slightly with excitement. "Hmm." Dawnpaw muttered. She thought for a while, Okay so I already know about the mouse bile, I didn't do so well on the Hunting lesson..... And we have enough herbs... "Well, Mabye you could teach me how to Hunt, again? I didn't do so well last time..." she trailed off. She sighed and then continued, "I know I'm going to be a Medicine cat, and Medicine cats don't usually hunt, But you know, For the mouse bile, Yeah, For the Mouse bile." she mewed. "We Do need more Fresh-kill.." "And then you could teach me about herbs and stuff."

Fernpool nodded. “All cats need to know how to hunt, even medicine cats. For many reasons.” She said and stood. Stretching, the she-cat yawned and licked her back gently. There had been something poking her in the bedding. “Sure, let’s go out and hunt.” She added wondering if it had come across clearly. It would be a good experience. As she waited for Dawnpaw to bounce out of the den, Fernpool thought about practicing with her apprentice. It would be fun to teach something besides herbs for awhile. She also needed to teach Dawnpaw about hunting fish in the river and how to swim. Does she know how?
“Dawnpaw, can you swim?” Fernpool asked gently as she padded towards the bouncy apprentice.

Dawnpaw bounded out of the Den after Fernpool, and heard her question. "Sadly, No." she meowed. "I don't really know that much." As they were walking, Dawnpaw saw a Floating Oak leaf. She grinned and pounced at it, catching it in the air. Dawnpaw mewled playfully. She let go of the leaf and ran back over the Fernpool. "Speaking of swimming, are you going to teach me how to do that Too?"

Fernpool mrr-ed in amusement as her apprentice caught a leaf. “Come on, let’s leave the camp first.” She said and padded out of the entrance. Once they were outside and past the waterfall guarding the entrance to the cave based camp, Fernpool waited for a moment. Then, she leapt into the air and caught another leaf. Mewling in delight she passed the leaf to Dawnpaw and sat smiling with her tail curled over her paws. “Yes, I think I should teach you to swim. Cascade Clan is bound by water and in order to reach the gatherings you ought to be able to swim across the river. If you get caught in currents they you will also want to know how to swim through them.” Fernpool nodded. “Which would you like to try first?” she asked.

Dawnpaw mewled in delight as Fernpool passed he a leaf. After about a couple seconds of playing, she sat back up. "Sure I'll try." she answered. Dawnpaw looked toward the River, which was a few Fox-lengths away. She ran over, Dawnpaw looked down at the babbling river, she saw her reflection. She purred in amusement. "Okay, He- Here I go...." She put one paw in the water to test the temperature. It was surprisingly warm. She put her front paws in, her back paws, until she was fully in. Dawnpaw fell to the bottom at first, and was swept away for about four fox-lengths, it seemed like a Miracle when her tabby striped head popped up. Dawnpaw suddenly knew how to swim, by instinct. She started to Kick her back legs, and pat her front paws against the water, kind of like running.
"Hey Fernpool, I'm doing it!" she Mewed loudly.

Fernpool watched in amusement as her apprenticed played then ran towards the water. “Dawnpaw!” she mewed in alarm and raced after the kit. Dawnpaw was in the water now. Fernpool had almost grasped her apprenticed by the scruff of her neck when she suddenly slipped under. “Dawnpaw!" the she-cat cried worriedly. She could just see the little body bobbing along the current. This was not the ideal place for a first swim! Racing along, Fernpool followed the little body and suddenly a little head popped up.
“Dawnpaw?!” Fernpool called again still racing along the stream. Suddenly, Dawnpaw seemed to either gain her footing or start swimming because she gained control of the flow. When she called out, Fernpool let out a sigh of relief and sat her tail on the bank with a thump. Watching her apprentice carefully, she smiled slowly and began to chide lightly. “You shouldn’t do that. Wait for my consent before you bound away. It could be dangerous if you jumped into the rushing currents! And remember the mudslides?” She scolded. “You must be careful! Now stay away from that log please.” She said and pointed a paw to a fallen log that Dawnpaw was slowly approaching.

"Sorry, Fernpool." Dawnpaw muttered. Dawnpaw cautiously swam away from the log that was approaching her. After the log had passed she swam toward the shore. She moved her paw to see if there was land, eventually she found it. She ran up the steep hill and felt grass under her paws. Dawnpaw Shook her fur out to dry it, she watched the glistening drops of water fly and fall. When she stopped Dawnpaw felt her fur puff out. "Oh, Great, now I look like a plump mouse." she chuckled. She lifted her paw and rubbed her fur down on her arms, and began to lick the rest down. For her back, Well, She just left it that way. "So what are you going to teach me now?" she asked excitedly.

Fernpool smiled as Dawnpaw’s fur proofed out and she padded over to the apprentice. She quickly began to lick the kits back to help her fur lie flat. Sharing tongues was usually something done in camp but Fernpool couldn’t let her apprentice wander around looking like half a mouse as she had said. Letting out a small mrr of amusement, she continued to lick the apprentice.
When she finished, and Dawnpaw once again looked normal, Fernpool sat and placed her tail over her paws. “We’ll practice hunting.” She said and padded further up the bank. Holding up her tail to signal Dawnpaw to be quiet, she lifted her nose and the scent of mouse rose to her mouth pallet. Smiling, Fernpool dropped into a crouch and began to stalk towards it.
[dice=6] drat...
Once, Fernpool reached it, she wiggled her tail accidentally and the mouse caught wind. Had she waited and been clam, perhaps the mouse would have been caught but seeing as she didn’t is escaped. Fernpool began to panic as the mouse studied the area in which she hid. Deciding to wing it, she leapt and landed on the mousse tail. Thinking she hadn’t caught it, Fernpool lifted her paw and the newly freed mouse ran away and escaped into a hole. Great, now what would Dawnpaw think? With a sigh, Fernpool smiled at her own foolishness and padded back to her apprentice. “Well, I missed because I began to rush.” She chuckled. “You try. You might have better luck.” She encouraged. Dawnpaw nodded her head in agreement. She didn't think less of he mentor, of course, in face Dawnpaw thought that Fernpool was the best Medicine cat in the Forest! "Okay I'll try, Wish me luck." she whispered. Dawnpaw quickly tasted the air. Nothing. She tried again, Nothing. Hmmm... Maybe I'll try over here. she thought. Dawnpaw walked over a few fox-lengths before tasting the air again. Mouse. She began toward the scent, then Dawnpaw saw the plump rodent... [dice=6] -.- Darn.
Dawnpaw pounced to catch it, but she had misjudged the length of her leap. So instead of catching it, she flew right over it just barley missing it. "Eep!!!" she mewed surprisingly, Dawnpaw had a back flash of the first time she did this... and instead of hurting herself, she landed on all four of her paws. The mouse, however, had run off. "Oops." she meowed, "Guess it's contagious, Huh?" she mewed jokingly. "Maybe you should try again, see if you have better luck, And i'll watch carefully." Fernpool felt her fur rise in alarm as her apprentice flew over the mouse. Then, seeing Dawnpaw land on her paws, Fernpool let her fur lie flat and sat back down as her apprentice spoke. Smiling she nodded. “It must be,” she mrr-ed. “Alright, let’s see if I can catch one and pass off my skill to you.” Standing, Fernpool smiled down and lifted her head cockily to tease her apprentice. Giggling to herself like a kit, she lifted her nose to scent a mouse.
[dice=6]yay!
Spotting it three fox lengths away, she held her tail up to tell Dawnpaw and pointed at the mouse. Padding as lightly as she could towards it, Fernpool dropped into her crouch. Vole hunting was much like a mouse. Same crouch, same technique. Waiting a moment, she estimated her leap and pounced silently. Landing on the vole, she wiped and in one quick move bit. The ole dropped lifeless in her jaws and Fernpool dropped it immediately. That was why she hated warrior training, why she had become a medicine cat instead. Taking lives, no matter how small and for what reason, was not the way of a medicine cat. Prey was one thing but cats she couldn’t handle.
Picking the vole up by the tail, she padded back to her apprentice and smiled, dropping it at her paws. [rand=6553579116279704196556885252424274299111253120748872017743358874]

Dawnpaw watched carefully as Fernpool caught the vole. She purred in amusement as she pounced. "Nice Catch." she mewed, "Now I will try.." Dawnpaw quickly opened her jaws to taste the air. She scented a mouse, again. She got into a crouch and started to crawl toward it.
[dice=6] Yeah, Bwahaha.
Dawnpaw grinned as she saw the mouse eating a small grain. It seemed as if it was too busy to even notice. She unsheathed her claws, just in case she flew over, so she could catch herself. Dawnpaw lunged toward it. She narrowed her eyes, excpecting to fly over it, but instead, she felt a small patch of fur meet her claws. Yes! With s swift bite to the neck she killed the mouse. "StarClan, those who have passed before us. I Thank you for my first successful catch, and for this mouse's life, I hope that you have watched me, and that you are pleased." Dawnpaw prayed silently. She picked up the mouse in her jaws, and padded over to her Mentor. "Look! Look! I caught it!" she purred through a mouthful of mouse fur. Fernpool purred in delight as her apprentice bounced over with the mouse in her jaws. “Wonderful catch, Dawnpaw.” She mrr-ed happily. “Do you want to keep hunting or go back to camp?” she asked. “It’s still quite early in the day; we could also just hang around the river.” She suggested. There was no rush to mentor her apprentice really and the herbs would sit and wait before running away so Fernpool wasn’t rushed. She was very proud of her apprentice though for catching her first mouse and gave her a swift lick behind the ear. “Your choice,” she added and settled herself down, crossing her paws.

Dawnpaw Set the mouse down to speak clearly. "Hmm, maybe we could...." she trailed off, thinking. "Actually, yes, can we go to the river?" she mewed, "It sounds relaxing." She arched her back and stretched, and sat down, her tail high over her head with anticipation.
