Poppy seeds- used to numb pain and make a cat very sleepy
Catmint - For whitecough and Greencough. Also exceptionaly tasty to cats that are not sick
Cobwebs - used to stop bleeding
Feaverfew - used to cool feverish cats and treat head pain
Borage Leaves - used to treat fevers and helps nursing mothers with their milk supply
Marigold - used to treat infection and heal wounds and sores
Horse Tail - used to treat infected wounds
Burdock root - used to treat infections, especially rat bites
Chervile Root - used to treat infections
Wild Garlic - rolling in this can help to keep out infection
Coltsfoot- used to treat kittencough
Catmint(also called catnip) - used to treat whitecough and greencough; can help to relax a cat
Chickweed- used to help treat greencough
Tansy - used to treat coughs
Thyme - used to calm a cat
Camomile - used to calm a cat
Dandelion Leaves- used to calm a cat
Juniper Berries - used to treat bellyache
Chervile- used to treat bellyache
Watermint - used to treat bellyache
Daisy Leaves - used to treat aching joints
Goldenrod- used in a poultice to treat aching joints and stiffness; can also be used for severe injuries.
Ragwort Leaves- used alongside juniper berries in a poultice to treat aching joints
Comfrey - used to treat broken bones
Nettle (leaves) - used to treat swelling
Nettle (seeds) - used to counter poison
Celadine - used to treat ailments of the eyes
Snake Root - used to counter poison
Honey - used to treat sore throats
Mouse bile - used to remove ticks from a cat's coat
Yarrow - used to make a cat vomit and expel poisons from the body
Adder barrack – Good for toothaches
Alfalfa – Used to prevent tooth decay
Aloe Vera – Use the leaves; treat burns and skin problems (insect bites, etc.)
Blessed Thistle – Helps strengthen the heart & lungs; increases circulation
Borage - Leaves and Roots should be consumed to stave off fevers. Seeds and leaves should be consumed by the nursing Queen to increase available milk.
Borage should never be used dried, only green.
Bramble twigs (chewed to a fine syrup) – Helps an insomnic cat sleep
Broom Malice Poultices – used like cobwebs but not to stops blood; it is for helping wounds heal
Burdock Root – Used to relieve joint pains (like arthritis)Good for rat bites and infected wounds
Catnip [extension] - Used to ease pain and help to cure Greencough, Blackcough and Whitecough, very important to have! Gathered and pressed into wounds to stop bleeding. Generally only used with wounds that risk bleeding heavily as they can cause increased risk of infection.
Celandine - Used to strenghten weak eyes.
Chamomile [extension] - Used to relax, leaves and flowers sooths heart & gives physical strength
Chervil Juice - Best for infected wounds to help them heal and get rid of bacteria.
Chervil Root - Used to cure bellyache
Comfrey - Used to help cure for broken bones
Deathberry (Deadly Nightshade) [extension] - Berries, or any other part of the plant, when consumed will kill the cat who swallows if they are not given immediate help, and even then they may not always be saved. Roots & leaves may be chewed together and applied to sore places, but must NEVER be applied to open wounds. This is a poison in addition to a healing plant.
Echinacia - Used to ease infection.
Ferns – Helps to clean out wounds by just the inside part after crunching off the outer shells
Fever leaves - used to reduce fever, in addition to being consumed to aid against colds and stomach ailments.
Feverfew - Used to reduce head pain
Garlic – good for Ear infections and wounds
Ginger – Used for asthma and coughs
Goldenrod - A muscle pain reliever
Hawthorne Berries – Treats heart burns and indigestion
Honey - Used to sooth irritated throats and other things, particularly good for smoke inhalation near thunderpaths
Horsetail – Chew the leaves and spit into wounds; stops infections
Huckleberry – A muscle pain reliever
Ivy – good to sooth a cat and calm them
Juniper berries - Good for belly ache and whitecough. Berries ease the stomach and can serve as a counter poison. Leaves are used to ease coughs and other respiratory problems.
Lavender - Leaves & flowers are particularly good when eaten for easing pains in head and throat, and good for a chill.
Inhaling the sent of fresh flowers can also calm the nerves.
Marigold - Leaves and Flowers should be consumed to relieve chills. Leaves and Petals can be chewed and placed on wounds to prevent infection.
Mouse Bile - bile from the liver of the common mouse may be harvested and used to kill stubborn fleas and ticks.
Nettle leaves - can be used to heal nasty rashes especially useful on poison ivy
Poppy (wild) - Seeds can be consumed to remove pain and aid is sleep.Flower heads should be consumed together to relive continuous coughs.Petals and Leaves should be chewed to aid in sleep and improve resting.
Ragweed Leaves - Relives stiff joints
Tree Roots - Good for belly-aches
Sacred bark – Used for upset stomach
Tansy [extension]- Leaves, flowers, and Stems should be eaten together to remove worms. Leaves may be chewed to relive joint aches. Flowers should be consumed to remove coughs. Pregnant Queens should NEVER be given Tansy, for it causes miscarriages.
Thyme -extension]- Should be consumed to calm the anxious cat, or to aid in brining restful sleep.
Water mint - Used to cure bellyache
Willow (Tree) - Water from beneath the bark of the flowering willow may be dripped into the eyes to help clear blurriness of vision. It may also be applied to dry patches of skin to sooth itches. Small amounts of Willow Bark may be consumed to ease pain, act against inflammation, and to ease diarrhea or fevers.
Yarrow Leaves - Makes a cat throw-up; good for poison extraction
Yarrow Ointment – Scraped paws
Pond apples [only found near waterfall] - Cures bellyaches
Alestris - Helps cats with troubled digestive systems to digest food.
Boneset - Also Lowers fever.
Deer-tongue [herb] - Helps flavor poultices.
Fringe tree - Kills germs and stops infections.
Gentian - A tonic that stimulates cats.
Passionflower - Is used to ease cats who have recently experienced tragedy or a great emotional shock or loss.
Pleurisy root - Makes a cat discharge phlegm or other fluids from the respiratory track.
Wild cherries - helps relive coughs
Witch Hazel - Anti-inflammatory.
Pokeweed - Anti-viral and anti-bacterial.
Palm fronds - Used as a splint for injured paws/claws.
Fresh squeezed lime juice - Used to heal injured paws; not to be used unless freshly squeezed due to bacteria growth.
Alder bark - Used to cure tooth aches (grind with water until fine paste then lightly spread on tooth)
Other Plants
Dock leaves - used to make a cat's coat slippery; also can be used as a surface for vomiting.
Deathberries (Yew) - of no medicinal value; bright scarlet berries that can kill a cat if they are not expelled quickly enough; use yarrow (called night-seeds by the Tribe)
Nightshade - of no medicinal value; is poisonous
Holly (berries) - of no medicinal value; poisonous like deathberries
