Fernpool smiled. He had given her just what she needed. “Fine then don’t.” she purred. “You don’t need to.” Smiling still, Fernpool sat back up and gave the kit another lick behind the ear. “You’re becoming a fine young medicine cat, Skypaw. Much more confident than when you were younger. If you ever need any help, not that you will I’m sure,” she purred in amusement “come find me. My clan won’t give you trouble if you tell them I sent you.”
Then she stood and pad back across the long. “Also,” she turned her head sneakily again to smile back at him. “If you ever want to hear about my spying on you as a kit, just send a yowl.” She giggled and hopped down.

(Then how does she know exactly what he's thinking. That sounds like telepathy to me -.-) Skypaw
The small tom just stared at her frostily. His dislike and suspicion of the older cat deepened. Still not saying a word, Skypaw ignored what she said as he continued making his way along the water's edge. Scenting for herbs, he wondered how she could have been a kit the same time as he was, even though she was nearly 13 moons older than himself. The next time I see her, I think I'll just ignore her. Or stay away from the stream, he resolved. I have no wish to see her again.

Fernpool padded further downstream in the opposite direction that Skypaw had taken and began to hunt for comfrey roots. Dawnpaw had said she spotted a few in this area though it seemed unlikely that they would be this close to a river bank. But, a promise to check it out ment that she would have to look and shrugging, Fernpool plodded onward.
While she hunted around, Fernpool’s thoughts drifted back to the icy apprentice. She wondered why he had such a cold exterior. It was most likely because of his loss of family. It was a lot for a kit to lose both parents and sibling. Fernpool knew. Both she and Lightstep had lost their parents at a young age but at least the two she-cats had each other. Skypaw didn’t have anyone, or if he did it was a member in his own clan. Hoping the young kit had at least one friend, Fernpool shook her head and thought about her own apprentice.
Dawnpaw was a very excited little kit and it might do some sort of good if the two apprentices met. Laughing lightly, Fernpool imagined what Dawnpaw would say after she met the Vale Clan apprentice. Perhaps they would get along and perhaps not. Either way, Fernpool decided to deal with the situation later as she spotted the roots Dawnpaw had told her about. They were, in fact, comfrey roots and Fernpool felt a glowing pride in her apprentice for having been able to find them. A soft purr erupted from her as the medicine cat smiled.
[She doesn’t know what he’s thinking. But I can’t say anymore otherwise he might guess. XD Should we end here?]
