All of Hazelpaw's smart remarks vanished in a matter of seconds. "B-b-but you told me to catch the fattest rabbit in the territory" He said fibbing, looking for any excuse. He knew that his mentor hadn't done anything of the sort. If played off the correct way tho.... If he was lucky he could get out of this. "If that stupid cat hadn't been there nothing would have happened, and I'd have the darn rabbit." He had his ears pressed against his head so he couldn't get them swiped off from his mentor. He decided it was time to stop talking.

Lightstep looked over her apprentice and frowned definably. “I did nothing of the sort and you know that, Hazelpaw. The most important thing all Cascade Clan cats are taught is not to lie. You have seriously shamed and disappointed your mentor and given reason to Mire Clan to scoff and belittle our clan.” She said in a calm, even tone littered with anger that was only slightly heard as she masked it. “For this little escapade,” she continued “you will be cleaning the elders den alone and I will be immediately reporting this to Goldenstar. I’ll make sure she has a word with you as well because obviously everything I say has no effect!”
Lightstep was very disappointed in her apprentice. Of all the stunts, pranks and jokes he’d pulled in the past, this had to have been one of the worst. Running away from the clan without word to anyone at risk of being hurt, giving Mire Clan reason to bother Cascade Clan when they already had enough worries with the mudslides and on top of everything, he’d lied! Goldenstar was going to be very disappointed as well.
Standing, Lightstep flicked her tail at the apprentice signaling him to stand and follow; then she turned around and began to walk back towards camp still invisibly fuming.

Fernpool followed as the Mire Clan medicine cat ushered her forward with his tail. They began to pad through bushes and ferns and Fernpool felt herself relax slightly. It was nice to have company while out looking for herbs. Usually, if someone accompanied her they had no idea about what any of the plants looked like or smelled like what so ever and weren’t much help. Although Fernpool didn’t mind it, she was pleased for a small change and followed willingly.
“Yes, things have been going well in the clan.” She replied as Ivorymask asked about flooding. She wasn’t quite ready to tell anyone outside Cascade Clan about the mudslides yet even the other medicine cats. Goldenfeather would have to approve any sayings first. “And you? How have things been in Mire Clan? All is well I hope?” she asked tentatively. If there was anything going on in Mire Clan that her clan ought to know, Fernpool figured she might as well ask though if bound to secrecy by Ivorymask, she wouldn’t repeat it.
It was tricky being a medicine cat at times. If another cat told you about problems in his clan and you knew your clan needed to know of it, but were sworn not to tell then things became sticky. Spotting a comfrey plant and hoping for the best, Fernpool raised her paw in indication and began to make her way over to the green.

((Ivory is medicine cat of FlurryClan, not MireClan ))
The sun was nice and warm against his pelt as Ivorymask lead Fernpool in the direction of the herbs. Upon spotting them, he stopped briefly and nodded to Fernpool, showing her that she should take whatever she happened to need. "I don't think you are telling me everything, Fernpool," he mewed, giving the she-cat a look that said "don't take me for a fool". "But if you aren't supposed to talk about something in your Clan, I understand." FlurryClan had, after all, received a shortage of rabbits this year because of their flooding, and he supposed Darkstar didn't want the other Clans to know this yet. Perhaps not even Fernpool.
"And FlurryClan has been going well. We are a little lean this year, but nothing we can't get through." He sighed slightly, closing his eyes briefly as he contemplated the meeting they had recently had. Issues might certainly arise soon, but that wasn't his business. His job was to listen to StarClan, give his opinion when absolutely needed, and be prepared for helping his Clan, be it with battles, hunger, or sickness. He didn't worry himself about Clan politics. [ooc: ooh sorry, my bad. Also, I'm re-reading the books and remember Yellowfang said you dig up comfrey roots. Comfrey leaves are also used throughout the ooks so I did both. XD]
Fernpool smiled and shook her head slightly. "Nothing's wrong in our clan either and like you said, nothing we can't handle."she said smiling and nodding at his request for her to take what she needed. Digging at the base of a tree, she spotted the comfrey roots after a few seconds. Picking a few, sure to leave some for Ivorymask, she placed them by her paws and turned to the leaves. Slipping her teeth around a branch of the comfrey, Fernpool snapped it off and decided that disscussing this herb would be the next thing she did with Dawnpaw. [/size]
